Matthew Effinger

Financial Advisor

After earning both his Life & Health Insurance, and Series 65 Securities Licenses in 2021, Matt began his career with Hentrup Financial Group at the beginning of 2022 serving as a Financial Advisor. He first became interested in investing while participating in the “Stock Market Game” as a part of a social studies course in high school. He opened his first trading account at 18 years old and since then, he’s gained valuable insight into how the capital markets move and react to economic, fundamental, and technical data. While he still enjoys trading, his focus has shifted towards helping his clients pursue their financial goals.

Before joining Hentrup Financial Group, he worked for a local sign & graphics company, for over 11 years helping his accounts through the process of conceptualizing and designing to producing, and finally, installation and project completion. What he enjoyed most in his previous role was helping his clients with creative ideas and ways to achieve their vision, whether it be a small print job or a large installation project.

Matt loves to stay active, and is always up for an adventure. Growing up in a military family, he was born in Hawaii, and grew up in Virginia Beach enjoying bodyboarding and surfing as a kid. When his family moved to Evansville in 2000, he attended Reitz Memorial High School where he wrestled, and played football and tennis. He graduated with Academic Honors and attended USI. Since then he’s competed in everything from rock climbing, and trail running, to jiujitsu and an IronMan triathlon in 2017. Now he mainly enjoys riding his mountain bike & traveling with his girlfriend Johnna, and spending time with their dog Micco.

Matt is the current chairman of the Young Professionals Alliance. An alliance through the local chamber of commerce EREP (Evansville Regional Economic Partnership).

"What I love most about what I do is helping my clients put together a retirement plan that works for them, and pursue their financial goals."
